FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where is Dice Farm?

While I occasionally table at events in London (or even further, looking at you Expo!) my home studio is in Bournemouth, UK.

Where do you ship?

Mostly - worldwide. However, thanks to new legislations (GSPR) I cannot currently accept orders from the European Union. I hope to eventually find a solution for this, and apologise for the limitations!

How do you ship?

I use exclusively tracked Royal Mail shipping - this means you can have the reassurance that the parcel will get to you, and you can use the tracking number to see where it's at on it's journey!

How is your art drawn?

All of my artwork is hand drawn, mostly digitally using Clip Studio Paint on my trusty laptop. Some of my art prints are digital reproductions of acrylic paintings on canvas - and my small range of Alderdoodle work is illustrated by Ramona of Alderdoodle! You will NEVER find AI in my work, on my website, or from anybody I work with. Art is intrinsically human, so everything you find here is human made.

What are your dice made of?

All of my dice (plus ghosts, dice trays, and hearts) are all made using a faux-stone material called jesmonite! This material is fantastic - it's referred to as 'faux-stone' as it's got a heftier weight to it than epoxy, and even has a cold touch to it. It's sturdy, it's durable, and most importantly - it is environmentally friendly. Faux-stone doesn't contribute to air pollution as it doesn't give off dangerous toxic vapours, and if it were to be left submerged in water for a few weeks they would disintergrate. Hopefully, nobody would ever want this to happen - and they'll easily last you a lifetime, but they wont be in a landfill in 10,000 years. They also make a great sound.

What do you use the dice for?

All sorts - the standard 7-piece set are mostly used for the game Dungeons & Dragons, but also used in other games like Pathfinder and a plethora of indie tabletop games too. They're the integral part of tabletop gaming - almost everything you do will be governed by the fate of the dice!

I also make the specific symbol dice for Vampire The Masquerade, D10's with ankh's and skulls for your hunger and attribute dice. On top of that, there's also D6 sets for wargaming, board gaming, and some indie systems use d6 pools for games!

Are they balanced?

Yes. Handmade dice are often far more balanced than your generic factory created dice - each set is made by hand, often no more than a few sets at a time, and more importantly: cast under pressure. The dice go into pressure pots that have been rigged for casting, to ensure that there aren't any bubbles inside them - bubbles like I often see in cheap dice. I have been making dice for over 5 years now, and am so proud of my craft - to make something beautiful, useful, and yep - balanced!
